Sun POwer Electric PURCHASES THE REGEN PRODUCT AND INTRODUCES NEW CHOICES FOR nEW ENGLAND CONSUMERS

(Westborough, MA, May 1, 2001)--- Sun Power ElectricTM (Sun Power) of Westborough, MA, the solar power generating division of Conservation Services Group, has recently completed acquisition of AllEnergy’s ReGensm product and enhanced it with energy efficiency products to become the first integrated clean and efficient product. ReGen is a renewable energy certificate product available to consumers in New England, which reduces the environmental impacts of the electricity that is delivered to homes and businesses. ReGen consists of certificates from renewable generation resources like solar energy from Sun Power’s two New England solar power plants located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts and Middletown, Rhode Island and landfill gas from a landfill gas site located North Attleboro, Massachusetts. These new, clean power plants give individuals and businesses the opportunity to offset the dirty energy they use with clean electricity generated from renewable sources. The energy efficiency enhancements mean that consumers will be saving more than they are spending to clean up the environment.

Sun Power has acquired AllEnergy’s ReGen product to expand its current portfolio of services to provide consumers with a comprehensive energy package. "The acquisition of this product" says Stephen L. Cowell, President of CSG " Will bring businesses and consumers energy conservation services that reduce their energy use and then offset what they use with ReGen" As Stephen L. Cowell sees it, "Conservation and renewable energy needs to be incorporated together so that individuals can save money through conservation and invest their savings in supporting clean energy." When an individual purchases ReGen, Sun Power gives the customer, free energy saving products, like high efficiency light bulbs. These light bulbs provide an energy savings of $200, enough to pay for three years of ReGen.

Each purchase of ReGen or conservation measures improves our air quality by matching and offsetting the ‘dirty’ power that is supplied by the older non-renewable power plants. As consumer demand for the product increases, Sun Power will bring more renewable resources, like solar or wind on-line in New England. By purchasing ReGen, hundreds of New Englanders and organizations like Patagonia, Appalachian Mountain Club, and Union of the Concerned Scientists are already doing their part to help keep these clean power plants running.

To date, Sun Power has built four solar power plants. The latest plant just came on-line on February 1, 2001, and is located on the roof of IKEA’s Pittsburgh store. The other three power plants are located on the roofs of BJ’s Wholesale Clubs. Sun Power hopes that by stimulating consumer demand for ‘green’ power solar energy will become a viable energy source for the region. Sun Power has purchased its solar panel products from two Massachusetts-based solar panel manufacturers, ASE Americas and Evergreen Solar. Sun Power’s unique business approach not only helps fight air pollution, but it has also helped the local economy by purchasing products that are made by the local solar energy community.

Conservation Services Group, Inc. (CSG), a leading national provider of energy conservation services and solar electricity, established Sun Power Electric in 1997. CSG offers energy efficiency and renewable energy services to help consumers improve the affordability and environmental quality of the energy used in their homes and businesses. CSG is one of the largest organizations providing these services in the country with annual revenues of 22 million dollars and over 275 staff in seven states.
